Since the recognition of the primary school of Baraka in 2012, the women who are at the heart of the generative activities there sell fruit juice and sweets. Students are kept in the school yard at recess times and this allows these six women to do their activities in the school at these times.
The relocation of the 26 families impacted by the project « Cité Baraka » had a huge delay and that is why the Baraka development committee in relation with the artisans of Baraka decided to get their hands dirty by proposing to build much cheaper Baraques.
Baraka craftsmen, especially carpenters, masons and electricians are hard at work for the realization of 78 Baraques.
This work is also facilitated by the Municipality of Sicap Liberty with the unfailing support of the Mayor Sir Sathie Agne who has the means to clear the occupants of the road and to clear the site which was made of large stones.
As a reminder, the space located on the main road at the entrance to Baraka was chosen to build the first 20 barracks and relocate families located southeast of the site. This will allow the contractor to properly continue building construction.
This « Cité Baraka » project is strongly supported by the State of Senegal through the Ministry of Urban Renewal of Housing and Living Environment which has set up a steering committee to facilitate the implementation of the project.
It is in this context that the chairman of the said committee, Mrs Soumaré, makes a weekly visit to the site to see the progress of the work.
Baraka artisans will never stop thanking the YOU Foundation for building capacity by empowering them in their fields.
According to them it is this training which motivated their implication in the proposal of the construction of barracks to relocate the 26 affected families.

For this Christmas is a magical event in the year. And every child in the world, especially Baraka, is waiting for a gift from his parents or relatives
The people of Baraka have decided to support the actions of « Mama of Blonde » for the youngest in their own way.
As a reminder, the YOU Foundation with Mrs. Ambassador Ohoven decided to rebuild the district whose project is called « New Baraka City » to improve the living conditions of the people of Baraka.
The YOU Foundation has decided to support the construction of a nursery school whose work is underway to prevent children from spending all their time playing in the neighborhood away from parental supervision.
It is in this sense that the young people of the neighborhood, their friends and parents thought to organize this Christmas tree to please the children of the neighborhood. These young people intend to perpetuate this action because these children deserve to be happy!
The animated ceremony had allowed children, parents and friends to spend a warm moment with the « fake » Santa Claus and local artists.
All the children were thrilled and very happy to receive a gift!
Youth unemployment in Senegal, and particularly in Baraka, is due to the lack of their skills and professional experience, as well as to the inadequacy of the profiles presented and the needs of the labor market.

The training of the artisans of Baraka continues until September 2017. This training is initiated by the YOU Foundation in Germany to empower these artisans of Baraka who do their work despite their lack of means. Classes are held Monday to Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm GMT at the primary school and at the IT Center.
The training of the craftsmen of Baraka began with a planning session with the teacher / trainer Mr Mohamed Diouf who will conduct the training in Baraka with two of his college professors of marketing and computer science.

The people of Baraka were very honored and deeply touched by the visit of President Macky Sall to Baraka. These people also realized that this was made possible thanks to their benefactress, called Mama Blonde UNESCO Special Ambassador Ohoven of the YOU Foundation. It is this sense that we took a tour in the neighborhood to take the testimonies of the population on all these events that took place in Baraka. 
For some years this young craftsman of Baraka, who became a mason, raises walls and builds a whole house with his colleagues. He skilfully manipulates his trowel, spreads out the mortar, places his bricks accurately. This dexterity of Yaya Diallo made him forget, that ten years ago, he had neither craft nor qualifications.
