The population of Baraka becomes aware that children’s education is a priority, thus they motivate the children to go to school during the holidays to learn more. The fact that most parents are not educated poses many difficulties in raising children. So to help these children to do better, some kids out of neighborhood who are motivated and committed to the success of Baraka schoolchildren, have embarked on the holiday courses organization. 
This Monday Barakas residents received a visit from Mr. STEPHANE a representative of the Company « Orascom », partner of the « YOU FOUNDATION ». He was accompanied by Mr. MANE from « HOPE87 SENEGAL » to visit the area.

« Training at the base, this is the only way to success in the world of football. » It was this maxim that inspired Idy SARR, a neighbor of Baraka and younger brother of a former Senegalese international passionate of football. He managed to create a soccer school in the district. Its purpose is to help young baraka who love football to gain the knowledge that could enable them to succeed in their dream in this sport. This Sunday, May 8, 2016, we went to meet them.

C’est ce maxime qui a inspiré Idy SARR un voisin de Baraka et jeune frère d’un ancien international sénégalais passionné du ballon rond. Il est parvenu à créer une école de football au sein du quartier. Son but c’est d’aider les jeunes de baraka qui aiment le ballon rond d’acquérir des connaissances qui les permettraient de réussir leur rêve dans ce sport. Ce dimanche 08 Mai 2016, on est allé à leur rencontre.
The world made a promise to the children 25 ago at the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: « We would do everything in our power to protect and promote their rights to survive and thrive, to learn and grow. » But despite these overall advances to respect the children’s right to education, many children still do not really have access to it. This is also the case for some children in Baraka. Is poverty a reason to deprive children of their right to go to school? We will show you the real facts on the education of children living in Baraka.
Il y a vingt-cinq ans (25 ans) le monde avait fait une promesse aux enfants : « nous ferons tout notre possible pour protéger et promouvoir leurs droits de survivre et de se développer, de s’épanouir et d’apprendre ». Malgré des avancés globales en ce qui concerne le droit à l’éducation, beaucoup d’enfants n’y ont tout simplement toujours pas accès, c’est le cas de certains enfants à Baraka. La pauvreté est-ce une raison de priver d’un enfant de son droit à une éducation de qualité ? Nous allons vous montrer les faits réels sur ce fléau dans notre quartier.
Il est une véritable aventure. Si quelqu’un me l’avait dit au milieu de Novembre que je voyagerai en Afrique même pas trois mois plus tard, je l’aurais ricané « ouais, bien. ». S’ils me avaient dit que, par souci d’un plus grand bien, je serais l’enseignement de l’art de bloguer à trois jeunes adultes admirables à Dakar, je l’aurais ri au nez, incrédule. Mais maintenant, je suis là. Par ordonnance de Mme Ohoven and her You Fondation, je suis directement dans le quartier désolé de Baraka, et prépare Ousmane Ly, Aïssatou Sow et Dieynaba Ba pour leur avenir en tant que la voix de leur ville natale. Il est vraiment une bénédiction pour travailler avec eux.
It’s a true adventure. If someone had told me in the middle of November that I would be traveling to Africa not even three months later, I would have chuckled „yeah, right.“. If they had told me that, for the sake of a greater good, I would be teaching the art of blogging to three admirable young adults in Dakar, I would have laughed it off disbelievingly. But now, here I am. By order of Mrs. Ohoven’s You Foundation, I’m directly in the desolate neighborhood of Baraka, preparing Ousmane Ly, Aïssatou Sow, and Dieynaba Ba for their future as voice of their hometown. It’s truly a blessing to work with them.
